Types of fuel are there for cars and vehicles

Despite the desire for electric powered items, there is still a huge need for petrochemicals to power our cars, vans and lorries. There are a number of ways that you can ensure that your vehicles are able to be refueled in a quick and efficient way. If you are a large delivery firm or a rep who visits a lot of companies and retailers throughout the country, then you might be better suited to getting a set of Fuel Cards. A supplier like https://www.fuelcardservices.com/fuel-cards/ is perfect for this. But, what fuel sources do we most commonly use in our vehicles?

  1. Petrol/Gasoline. Like it or not this still remains the most used source of fuel in our cars. Distilled from crude oil, petrol is a fossil fuel that is processed to cause the explosion in the internal combustion engine.
  2. Diesel is the second most used fuel. It is also distilled from crude oil. Originally it was the most predominantly used type of fuel. It was used in all motorised vehicles including lawn mowers and tractors for agricultural purposes.

  1. Auto Gas. Again, this is taken from the fossil fuel petrol. Auto gas is a liquid version of the gas. It is seen as a possible solution for continuing to use gasoline and crude oil as it is a much greener option. Its carbon footprint for production is very low.
  2. Coal. This is not an option anymore and it certainly did not take off back in the early days of automobiles when it was first produced. Working examples of steam cars still exist but they are only to be found in museums.
