Standard Steel palisade fencing is supplied Galvanised, Powder Coated or a combination of both. The Galvanised finish is the cheapest option and adding a powder coated finish in a colour of your choice is approximately £5 to £15 per meter above the cost of the Galvanised finish.
Pale Profile and Top Design
W-section pales are the most common type and offer best value for money. D-section pales are an alternative and have a slightly neater appearance, but are more expensive. Cranked or triple-pointed pales have a higher security value, but this is on top of the higher value of the D-section pale.
Height and Linear Metreage
For example, fencing that is 2.4m high uses more material than a 1.8m high fence, so prices for longer runs will be higher due to the increased amount of steel used.
Ground Conditions
Ground conditions – rocky or sloping for example, will mean more groundworks, thus more expensive in terms of labour. It is always worth a site visit prior to a fixed price quotation.
Gates and Access Points
Each gate will have a fixed cost for the fabrication of the gate and the heavier posts required for the gate end. Double gates for vehicle access are normally considerably more expensive than single pedestrian gates.
