Until you have sorted out the barbells, it is hard to organise the rest of the gym equipment.
Mount Bars on the Wall
By using horizontal holders mounted to the wall, you can keep your barbells out of the way and free up space in the centre of your gym for your actual lifts. J-hooks are very simple to use and can hold multiple barbells, while only taking up a small amount of space. Just be sure to bolt them into studs to support their weight.
Use a Vertical Storage Tree
You can store your bars vertically using an upright storage tree. This is typically a narrow freestanding rack where you can slide the bars in and out. Most uprights hold 4-6 bars and are designed to be used in a corner.

Label Bars by Weight or Purpose
Add a small luggage tag or cable-tied label to the bar to indicate weight and use. Store the lightest to heaviest bar first to ensure easy access in the gym.
Protect Sleeves and Knurling
Rubber sleeve caps protect bar end sleeves during storage and prevent them from being damaged. Foam pipe lagging strips can be used on horizontal racks between bars to prevent scratching or knurling on the bars.
These simple measures now save me time and also look after my bars well!
