Why you should offer food options at work

  1. Boosts morale for staff

Employee morale is the overall attitude, satisfaction and outlook of employees towards a company or organisation. It is important to offer your employees a good menu and dining experience if you want them to remain loyal and have a positive outlook towards your business.

Food is a great way to keep the workforce happy. Many employees love this perk and it’s an excellent way to show them that they are valued. They can feel taken care of when they see that the company is making an effort to provide quality food in the office. This encourages a positive attitude towards work and increases employee morale. 1. Improves creativity

The food we eat can have a direct impact on our productivity and performance, regardless of where or what type of work we do. Nearly everything we eat is converted into glucose, the energy required to keep our brains alert. The brain can lose focus if it does not receive enough glucose.

Healthy meals can increase productivity. Unhealthy foods that cause the body to work too hard or release glucose quickly may decrease it. It’s tempting and cheap to grab a quick meal during lunch, but employees could be compromising their performance and focus.

A coffee bar in the office can boost productivity, even though it is not a snack. Coffee can improve employee alertness and memory. It also encourages faster learning, increases creativity, and helps employees stay awake.

  1. Promotes healthy eating habits

It’s vital that you set an example and act as a leader for your employees. Encourage healthy eating in the workplace. In the U.S., over 82% (of surveyed adult employees) said that having healthy food choices at work was important. In addition, 68% of employees value their employer’s help in eating healthier.
