How to secure items in your warehouse

Running a shop or a warehouse means that you will usually have large numbers of products on display and ready to be put out on the shelves. It is important that these items are sold correctly in order for your business to make a profit. Shoplifters and thieves can present a real problem for both shops and warehouses and unfortunately in some cases, this can cause real problems for the sustainability of your business.

There are a number of ways that you can secure items in your warehouse and these can include the following.

Locked access – you can have your warehouse or stockroom locked and only accessible to those members of staff that need to be collect items ready to refill the shelves. Locked access also helps to

prevent members of the public from accessing the area on an unauthorised basis.

Cameras – these are incredibly useful in warehouse spaces and they can be positioned so that they cover the entire space and allow for monitoring and recording of everything that happens in this area. You should ensure that there are also cameras positioned to be able to view people as they enter and leave the warehouse space.

Security Seal – these can be placed around high priced items and they can be found in a number of different types. You can see a large range of them from places like

Acme Seals. Where possible you should have the seals placed on the products as soon as they arrive in the warehouse or stock room space.
