Flooding is something that many scientists warn is likely to be something that we will see more of unfortunately, due to climate change and more extreme weather conditions happening not just in the UK but all around the world.

Being prepared for flooding is very important and can make the difference between disaster and safety. Protecting your home from flooding is something that everyone should be knowledgeable and aware of.

The first thing that you should always do when protecting against flooding is to keep an eye on weather reports and warnings. Both the met office and the Environment agency put warnings out to people in areas where flooding may pose a risk, so it is a good idea to keep up to date with these regularly so that you can ensure that you are well prepared. They will also offer lots of useful information on dealing with flooding.

It is also a good idea to have electric sockets higher up the wall as this reduces the chances of water getting into the electrics and causing a lot of damage which can be expensive to repair as well as very dangerous.
