Xbox 360 Backwards Compatability List Updated: Psychonauts Finally Playable!!! [update 3]
It seems that another backwards compatability update for the Xbox 360 has snuck up on us, and guess what’s finally on the list? You guessed it… it’s Aquaman: Battle of Atlantis Psychonauts! This game was a blast, if you haven’t already picked it up, do so now…. I mean NOW. Get up and head to your local gamestop right this second and pick it up.
Some other new additions worth mentioning are:
- Scarface
- Rainbow Six: Lockdown
- Mortal Kombat: Armageddon
- I-Ninja
- Indigo Prophecy
- Destroy All Humans!
My roommate remains sad as Bicycle Casino has still not made the list. Hang in there Kurt!
[update 1] It seems the updated list was up…. and then went back down. The current list showing on xbox.com is the August 2006 list. Anyone tried Psychonauts on the 360 yet? Let us know if the update actually exists or not. Also, if anyone managed to cache the list before it reverted back to it’s original form, let us know.

[update 3] Major Nelson has posted on his blog that this update is officially released…. so what are you waiting for? GO… Play Psychonauts!

it seems that the updated list has been pulled and replaced with the august list - I’ll see if I can find the current (if it is infact current) list cached anywhere.

Shenmue II has been one of my hopefuls my original xbox went to heck and ended up being a fileserver and i figured i was gonna hafta petition the heck outta xbox to include it in backward compatibility, but looks like they answered my prayers. guess imma have to keep poppin it in my 360 every once and a while to check for a update.

I have the whole list saved cos I still had it up on my screen from last night. I must’ve tried Shemue II 15 times last night. I was soooo pissed……I thought maybe I fell for an early April Fool’s joke. Email me if you want the original HTML page. I almost went out and bought another copy of Shenmue II last night as a gift for a friend with a 360.

Also note that the list is from Great Britain. It probably doesn’t matter because when you go to the GB list rather than the US, it still doesn’t show the updated games…….

Indigo Prophecy doesn’t work… I went to Blockbuster and rented it (off my gamepass) and it says that it is not backwards compatible. DOH.
