2010 is looking to be an amazing year for gamers. “Thanks to” the release of Modern Warfare 2 and a little bit of econimic crisis several high profile titles meant for late 2009 got pushed into 2010 instead.

For this BFTP I will tip all you gaming noobs off on one of the greatest PC games of all time; X-COM: UFO Defense, or X-COM: Enemy Unknown as it was later called. This turn-based strategy masterpiece was first released for MS-DOS in 1993.

There are videogame trailers are great and there are those that are terrible, not so often do you see one that’s simply ridiculous and funny. The “Serious Supermercial Trailer” for the upcoming PC and XBLA remake of “Serious Sam” stands out among the rest..

While trying to get through my pile of unplayed or “unfinished” games, a pile that’s grown considerably over the past month, I just couldn’t resist picking up “Trine” via Steam shortly after its release. I’d had my eyes on the game since I stumbled upon a couple of screenshots and an in-game video some weeks ago.

In September it’s finally time for the PC version of the game and it looks like Capcom won’t repeat the embarassment that was the PC port of Resident Evil 4 (/puke). The PC version of the game comes packed with higher resolution textures, improved graphics effects, enhanced and improved controller options (hotkeys, hotkeys, hotkeys!!!!) and support for Nvidia 3D Vision goggles (if you’ve got a monitor that supports 120Hz refresh rate…).

Back from an involuntary gaming break (caused by moving my lazy self into a new apartment) to deliver a short BFTP, featuring the classic “Monkey Island” series. After being silent since 2000 and “Escape from Monkey Island” the franchise was rebooted just last week (July 7 to be exact) as the first of five episodes titled “Tales of Monkey Island” was made available on WiiWare and PC…

It has been known for some time that PC gamers were getting the short end of the stick with Terminal Reality’s new Ghostbusters game, seeing as both multiplayer and additional content has been cut completely from the PC version.

A statement has since been issued by the game’s developer adressing the lack of multiplayer, and it seems like the multiplayer was cut from the #1 online gaming platform so that the console versions could be “the best that they could be.”

One of my all time favorite games is also a game that most gamers today never played, or even heard of for that matter. FunCom’s 1999 classic “The Longest Journey” is to this day praised as one of the best adventure games ever for its interesting, magical story, mature dialogue and superb voicework.
