Woke up did some things around the house, went to turn on my xbox, and I see the E74 and the red light. We just turned on the air conditioning a couple days ago, so maybe it's been suffering for a couple weeks, but no warning whatsoever. So I google to see what it is, loose cable, so I check cables, try a second set of cables, no dice. Then I see that E74 is being accused of being the new RROD code. Sounds shady if it's true, but I'm glad microsoft, again, revised their warranty or I'd be SOL. Don't really want to wait for another system, so I'm gonna send it in and buy an extra used console and make it a mod/project system, when my 360 comes back. Part of me wants to open it up and fix it now, but there's no point if I'm under warranty. Got E74 today out of nowhere. I also work on the Xbox 360's on a fairly regular basis and what an easy way to get around the cost for Microsoft than to change the process in which the unit displays an error. That was the first thing I thought of when I started getting so many calls for the E74 code. I still get calls for the RRoD but the other is definitely on the increase. It would be nice if Microsoft would just admit the flaw and go back to the drawing board but you know as well as I they will not do that. So for now I will continue working on them for the many people out there that are passed the warranty.
