Google Browser Sync: Convenient or Troubling?
June 12th, 2006
In an effort to collect more data about you make browsing more convenient, Google has released the Browser Sync plugin for Firefox. This plugin will allow users to upload things such as bookmarks, passwords, and even open tabs to a central server so that you can access them from any computer you happen to be using the internet from.
The good: you get all your stuff in one place, great for anyone on the go
The bad: Does google REALLLLLY need any more of your personal information? They already have record of your searches and browsing habbits saved, and they’ve already had to give up a random sampling of that info to the government…. now they want your bookmarks and passwords? Maybe I’m just paranoid but…. Yikes.
