About Check Your HUD

Check Your HUD was originally going to be one of those news sites that reported on gaming . Actually Check Your HUD was originally called something else and revolved around tech, if you want to get technical. But the idea has evolved into something a bit different… I realized when starting this project that the news is covered and covered well and I am just one humble gamer who couldn’t do it all.  But I still felt like I have something to say—something to bring to the conversation. Gaming is at such an exciting point with advances in new technology, polished AI, wide competition… every gamer is literally on the edge of their seat right now trying to absorb it all and anxious for the endless possibilities beyond the horizon. Yet despite the direction things are going, there are obstacles and negativity that gamers as a whole should address… things like bad drm, dlc abuse, misguided activism, companies who are still “playing it safe” and under-delivering.  So with this excess of information, news, new games, underhanded business practices, we’re hoping to make sense of some of it and open up a forum for gamers who want to discuss games and the industry in an intelligent, coherent, and progressive way that hopefully will become a strong voice to let the industry know we’re paying attention and we have opinions that need to be heard.
