CGOTW: unRevolutionary
June 9th, 2009
UnRevolutionary looks like a simple two stick shooter at first glance, but it’s actually a surprisingly deep game. You start off with a simple ship that fires one bullet at a time. As you make your way through the various stages of the game, your ship will level up. With each new level you get the opportunity to apply skill points to things like speed, and the number of bullets you fire at a time. You also get special abilities, such as the ability to stop time, and the ability to push enemies away from your ship. There’s also a wide variety of stage types to work your way through, including round levels, long corridor levels, and even a race level.
With diverse gameplay, and the ability to level up your ship, unRevolutionary is easily worth the 400 MS point price tag to any two stick shooter fan.

Looks really cool, I like how smaller devs can create games that look just as good as the big companies, this looks just as good as the original geometry wars, if not better.

At first I thought this looked like another geometry wars clone, but it’s very very different. Great find, as usual.
