Time to try and revive our community game of the week series, and first out is “Border Wars”.  The hand drawn art style is what made me look closer while shifting through the Indie game catalogue on Xbox Live. Border Wars is a 2D space shooter and the gameplay is standard faire, you shoot the bad guys which gives you points which you spend on ship upgrades. What sets the game apart, besides the goofy art that makes it look like something drawn by a 6 year-old, is that you can design your ship. You can choose between a variety of premade shapes as well as draw free-hand…. which is pretty difficult using analog sticks.

Border Wars is available for 240 Microsoft points and the demo is worth checking out just for the hand drawn style.
