One night back in the 80’s Pong went on a date with Breakout. It was a magical evening. They had a lovely dinner, followed with a long walk in the park. As they walked, they talked and talked, and lost all track of time as their words got carried off by the warm summer breeze. As they sat down on a park bench, Pong said “Oh my, look at the time! I had no idea it was so late!” to which Breakout replied “You know, my place is right around the corner….. you could come in for some coffee.” They never did have that coffee, what they did have, however, was a night of mad passionate love making on top of a deck of cards. The next day, Pong went home with Breakout’s assurances that he had a lovely time, and he would call her so they could get together for another date soon, but that call never came.

About a month later, Pong realized she was late, and I don’t mean filing her taxes. A pregnancy test confirmed her fears: Pong was pregnant. Pong was getting on in years, and with the advent of newer, fancier consoles like the NES, and the Sega Master System, she was finding it harder and harder to find work. Gone were the halcyon days when the Atari 2600 reined supreme. Now, she was lucky to get a gig making a brief appearance in some commercial for a toy store. She would lay awake at night wondering how on earth she would ever be able to support a child when she was barely able to support herself. Time passed, and eventually that fateful day rolled around when Aceball was to be born. When Pong took one look at Aceball, she felt a mother’s love and grief all at the same time. Somehow, having sex on that deck of cards had effected the baby growing within her womb. Spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts marred the newborn’s appearance. How could she raise such a wretch? She just couldn’t afford the plastic surgery the child was sure to need in order to live a normal life! What could Pong possibly do but put the child up for adoption?

Aceball had a rough childhood, bouncing from orphanage to orphanage. No one wanted to adopt him due to his playing card aesthetic. He watched week after week as the other children found the warm embrace of new parents, but he never let it get him down. He was a good game, and no one could take that from him. With his gameplay that combined the tennis style action of Pong with the destructible blocks of Breakout was sure to earn him his place in the spotlight one day. He just KNEW it! With two player co-op, and four player skirmish modes, he would show them all how talented he truly was!

One day, years after leaving the orphanage to make his way in the world, Aceball landed his dream job working for developer VoodooChief. He was finally unleashed onto the Xbox Live Marketplace for 200 Microsoft points, where he delighted many a gamer during many a party. From his humble beginnings, Aceball went on to earn the prestigious title of Community Game of the Week!
