I agree with you that developers aren't putting out unfinished games, I was mainly referring to games like Gears that you take online and if you want the "full" experience you need all the maps, for which you'll pay. I agree that you aren't forced to buy these things, it is just my opinion that much of the stuff they charge for should be free. While I didn't hesitate to download some of the LBP costumes, no matter how much I want to dress up my sack boy like Ryu of Zangief I'm not about to pay for it. What really gets me about these microtransactions is that at the same places you buy these things you can oftentimes buy whole games for the same price. I just find that to be ridiculous.

I've been saying for years that developers need to stop focusing on graphics and start focusing on gameplay. This is not to say that games should all have crappy graphics, but that they should not be the main focus of the game. While fun may be a subjective thing, I don't think you can deny that the fun factor in a game comes more from the gameplay than pretty graphics.

I don't necessarily agree with you about downloadable content, however. In some cases, it's silly or excessive, but for the most part I don't think that developers are selling you unfinished games. In a lot of cases, downloadable content can provide more entertainment for your favorite games for only a couple bucks. I would like to see some more free downloadable content from developers. I like the way that Little Big Planet has been doing it... they are putting up new stuff weekly, usually at least 1 free item and some pay items.
